Build a trust-focused improvement for Firefly used by small businesses

Problem Statement Description

Product context: Adobe is a creative, document, and marketing software company; its products include Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Adobe Express, Firefly, and Experience Cloud.

Adobe Firefly helps users generate and edit creative assets with AI, but small businesses often face a higher trust burden than individual hobbyists: their outputs may be used in ads, websites, social posts, packaging, client work, or customer communications where brand reputation, rights, consistency, and accuracy matter. These users may not have legal, design, or brand teams to review every asset before publishing.

Design a trust-focused product improvement for Firefly specifically for small businesses. Consider the end-to-end workflow from creating a question, generating variations, editing or approving an asset, collaborating with teammates or clients, and exporting the work into business channels. The focus is not simply making AI outputs “better,” but helping small-business users feel confident that what they create is safe, usable, on-brand, and appropriate for real commercial use.

Your response should define the target user, the trust problem you are solving, the key moments where doubt or risk appears, and the product experience that would reduce that friction. You should stay within Firefly’s role in Adobe’s creative ecosystem while considering how small businesses compare alternatives such as Canva, CapCut, Microsoft, Google, OpenAI, Figma, or other lightweight creative tools.

The experience should consider:

- Which small-business user segment you are designing for, such as owners, marketers, freelancers, agencies serving SMBs, or non-design employees

- The specific trust concerns involved, such as commercial safety, brand consistency, output quality, factual accuracy, bias, copyright confidence, approval workflows, or content provenance

- How the improvement fits into the user journey before, during, and after generation

- What information Firefly should expose to build confidence without overwhelming non-expert users

- How collaboration, review, or approval might work in a small team with limited time and expertise

- How the feature balances creative flexibility with safeguards and clear user control

- How success would be measured through adoption, confidence, reduced rework, export/publish behavior, or retention

- Key risks, edge cases, or failure modes that could undermine trust

The goal is to propose a product experience that makes Firefly more dependable for small businesses using generative AI in real commercial workflows, while preserving Adobe’s strengths in creative quality, professional trust, responsible AI, and integration into broader content creation processes.
