Problem Statement Description
You are launching a seller performance hub for restaurant owners on a marketplace or ordering platform. The hub is intended to help owners understand how their restaurant is performing, identify operational gaps, and complete educational modules or guided learning that improve their ability to manage menus, availability, order quality, customer satisfaction, promotions, and platform compliance.
Restaurant owners are often time-constrained, operationally overloaded, and may delegate day-to-day tasks to managers or staff. The launch plan needs to account for fragmented workflows, varying digital fluency, multi-location ownership, language/accessibility needs, and the reality that learning completion competes with urgent restaurant operations. The primary optimization goal is learning completion, but the plan should also protect seller trust and marketplace health.
This is an execution interview question. Focus on how you would take the product from readiness to launch and post-launch iteration: defining scope, sequencing rollout, aligning teams, managing dependencies, identifying risks, setting go/no-go criteria, and creating feedback loops.
The experience should consider:
- Target users: single-location owners, multi-location operators, store managers, and delegated staff who may interact with the hub differently.
- Launch scope: which markets, restaurant segments, learning modules, surfaces, and platform touchpoints are included in the initial release.
- Operating plan: owners across product, engineering, design, data, sales/account management, support, trust/safety, localization, and marketing.
- Dependencies: content readiness, seller data accuracy, permissions, notifications, analytics instrumentation, support training, and CRM or account-manager workflows.
- Sequencing: alpha/beta/pilot/general launch decisions, cohort selection, eligibility criteria, and expansion triggers.
- Success measurement: learning starts, learning completion, drop-off points, repeat engagement, seller satisfaction, and downstream business or operational signals.
- Launch risks: low awareness, content irrelevance, inaccurate performance insights, notification fatigue, operational disruption, support burden, and unequal accessibility.
- Governance: go/no-go criteria, rollback or pause mechanisms, incident escalation, seller communications, and post-launch review cadence.
Your goal is to describe a clear, realistic launch plan that maximizes learning completion while ensuring restaurant owners understand the value of the hub, can access and complete learning within their normal workflow, and receive a trustworthy experience that can scale across seller segments and markets.
