Design a mobile-first creator analytics for small businesses with limited time and attention

Problem Statement Description

You are asked to design a mobile-first creator analytics experience for small businesses that use content to drive awareness, leads, sales, bookings, or repeat engagement. The primary users are time-constrained owner-operators, solo marketers, local merchants, service providers, and small e-commerce teams who may post across multiple channels but do not have dedicated analytics expertise.

Today, these users often check performance in fragmented dashboards, screenshots, spreadsheets, or platform-specific tools. They may only have a few minutes between customer work, fulfillment, appointments, or store operations, so the experience must help them quickly understand what changed, what matters, and what action they should consider next without overwhelming them with charts or vanity metrics.

The design should focus on the end-to-end workflow: connecting content and business signals, reviewing performance on mobile, interpreting results, prioritizing actions, and building confidence in decisions. Assume the product must serve users with different levels of data literacy, inconsistent posting habits, and varying business goals.

The experience should consider:

- The core jobs small businesses hire creator analytics to do, including content planning, performance review, customer acquisition, and sales or booking attribution.

- The mobile usage context, including short sessions, interruptions, notifications, limited screen space, and low tolerance for complex analysis.

- How to translate creator metrics into business-relevant decisions without assuming advanced analytics knowledge.

- The onboarding flow, goal setup, account/channel connections, and how the product handles incomplete or low-volume data.

- How users compare content performance across formats, channels, audiences, campaigns, and time periods.

- Trust, clarity, and explainability in any recommendations, summaries, benchmarks, or automated insights.

- Accessibility, localization, privacy, and permissions for business accounts and connected platforms.

- Success indicators for the product experience, including whether users make better decisions, save time, and return regularly.

Your goal is to frame the user problem, identify the highest-value use cases, and define a mobile product experience that improves decision quality for small businesses while respecting their limited time, attention, and analytics maturity.
