Design a new feature in Acrobat that helps video editors achieve better outcomes

Problem Statement Description

Product context: Adobe is a creative, document, and marketing software company; its products include Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Adobe Express, Firefly, and Experience Cloud.

Adobe Acrobat is widely used for reviewing, sharing, annotating, approving, and archiving professional documents. Video editors, however, often work across scripts, storyboards, shot lists, client feedback, legal approvals, brand guidelines, export notes, and deliverable specifications that live partly in PDFs and partly inside editing or collaboration tools.

Your task is to design a new Acrobat feature that helps video editors achieve better outcomes in their end-to-end workflow. Focus on how Acrobat could reduce friction in planning, review, feedback, approvals, or handoff for editors working with producers, clients, marketers, legal teams, and creative directors. The feature should feel credible within Adobe’s ecosystem and Acrobat’s role as a trusted document and collaboration product.

This is a product design exercise, not a visual design task. You should clarify the target user, identify the highest-value pain point, define the core experience, and explain how success would be measured without prescribing a full technical implementation.

The experience should consider:

- The specific type of video editor or editing context you are designing for, such as freelance, agency, enterprise marketing, social content, or film/post-production workflows.

- Where Acrobat naturally fits into the video workflow versus where tools like Premiere Pro, Frame.io, Canva, Figma, CapCut, Google, or Microsoft products may already be used.

- Key user pain points around feedback consolidation, version confusion, approvals, annotations, scripts, asset references, compliance, or stakeholder communication.

- How collaborators with different skill levels participate, including clients or executives who may not use professional editing tools.

- Trust, permissions, auditability, and privacy expectations for creative assets, client materials, and enterprise review workflows.

- How AI or automation could assist the workflow while remaining transparent, controllable, and aligned with professional creative standards.

- What the primary user journey looks like from need recognition through feature usage, collaboration, and completion.

- Metrics or signals that would indicate the feature improves editor outcomes, collaboration quality, or workflow efficiency.

The goal is to propose a focused, user-centered Acrobat feature that solves a meaningful workflow problem for video editors while fitting Adobe’s broader strengths in creative tools, trusted documents, and professional collaboration.
