Problem Statement Description
Imagine a developer marketplace or platform where third-party developers publish apps, plugins, APIs, templates, or integrations that buyers can discover, purchase, and install. Buyer confidence depends on whether listings feel safe, compliant, high-quality, and transparently reviewed before and after they go live.
Design a trust and safety queue experience for developers. The queue should help developers understand what trust-related items require attention, what stage each item is in, what evidence or remediation is needed, and how their actions affect listing approval, marketplace visibility, or buyer-facing trust signals.
Focus on the developer workflow and the product experience, not internal policy design alone. Consider how the system handles new submissions, updates, buyer reports, security/privacy concerns, identity or business verification, appeals, and time-sensitive escalations without creating unnecessary friction for legitimate developers.
The experience should consider:
- Developer personas, such as first-time publishers, high-volume marketplace partners, and developers responding to buyer complaints or compliance reviews
- Key queue objects, such as app submissions, listing updates, verification tasks, policy violations, security reviews, user reports, and appeal cases
- Workflow states, including submitted, under review, action required, approved, rejected, suspended, appealed, or resolved
- How developers understand priority, severity, deadlines, missing information, and consequences of inaction
- How the queue improves buyer confidence through better review quality, faster remediation, clearer trust signals, or reduced unsafe listings
- Edge cases such as false positives, repeated violations, urgent vulnerabilities, incomplete evidence, and globally distributed developers
- Notifications, audit history, communication with reviewers, and transparency around decisions without exposing sensitive abuse-detection logic
- Accessibility, scalability, and operational handoff between automated checks, human review, and developer self-service
Your goal is to define a clear product experience that helps trustworthy developers move efficiently through safety reviews while ensuring buyers can make decisions with greater confidence in the marketplace.
