Problem Statement Description
Relocating renters often search for homes remotely, compare unfamiliar neighborhoods, and contact owners or brokers before they can physically verify the property. In a real estate marketplace, the search and verification experience must help renters discover relevant rental homes, understand whether a listing is trustworthy, and submit qualified leads without exposing sensitive personal data or creating excessive operational burden.
For this technical PM exercise, design the API and data model considerations that would support rental home search, listing details, availability, verification status, locality signals, user inquiries, and lead qualification. The system should account for multiple listing sources such as owners, brokers, internal operations teams, and third-party feeds, while handling data freshness, duplicate listings, inaccurate attributes, and changing availability.
Your scope should focus on the product and platform requirements rather than writing code. Consider how different clients, such as mobile apps, web experiences, internal verification tools, and partner integrations, would consume or update rental data reliably and securely.
The experience should consider:
