Design the technical product architecture for support automation at large scale

Problem Statement Description

You are designing the technical product architecture for a support automation platform serving creators at large scale. Creators may contact support for account access, monetization issues, content policy appeals, payout delays, feature bugs, safety concerns, or platform guidance, and they expect fast, accurate, and trustworthy resolution without repeatedly explaining their context.

The current support experience may involve fragmented help-center content, manual triage, long queues, inconsistent agent responses, limited visibility into ticket status, and difficulty escalating urgent or sensitive cases. The product must improve resolution speed while preserving quality, fairness, privacy, and user trust across languages, geographies, creator tiers, and issue types.

As a Technical PM, your task is to describe the architecture and product requirements for an automated support system that can ingest creator requests, classify intent, retrieve relevant context, automate safe resolutions where appropriate, route complex cases to human agents, and continuously learn from outcomes. The scope should include both creator-facing and internal support workflows, not just a chatbot interface.

The experience should consider:

- Creator entry points, authentication, account context, ticket creation, status tracking, and escalation paths

- Data sources such as help content, account metadata, policy systems, transaction records, moderation history, and prior support interactions

- APIs, event flows, permissioning, audit logs, and integrations with CRM, workflow, notification, and knowledge-management systems

- AI/automation boundaries, confidence thresholds, human-in-the-loop review, fallback handling, and responsible use of generated responses

- Reliability, latency, availability, disaster recovery, observability, and operational monitoring at global scale

- Privacy, security, access control, regulatory constraints, data retention, and sensitive-case handling

- Rollout strategy, experimentation, localization, accessibility, and support for different creator segments and issue severities

- Product trade-offs between speed, cost, accuracy, personalization, explainability, and risk of incorrect automation

Your goal is to frame a scalable technical architecture and product approach that materially reduces time to resolution for creators while maintaining support quality, compliance, and trust. Focus on requirements, system interactions, data and API design, rollout considerations, and the trade-offs a Technical PM would need to manage.
