Redesign the mobile experience of Radar for developers

Problem Statement Description

Product context: Stripe is financial infrastructure for internet businesses; its products include payments, Checkout, Billing, Connect, Radar, Issuing, Terminal, and tax tools.

Stripe Radar helps businesses detect and manage payment fraud, while developers often play a key role in integrating fraud tooling, monitoring signals, debugging payment outcomes, and configuring rules or workflows. In this question, you are asked to redesign Radar’s mobile experience specifically for developers who may need to understand, investigate, or respond to fraud-related events when they are away from a desktop environment.

Consider the developer’s end-to-end workflow: receiving an alert, identifying whether a payment or customer is risky, inspecting relevant technical and business context, understanding why Radar made a decision, coordinating with teammates, and deciding what action—if any—should happen next. The mobile surface must balance urgency and clarity with the complexity of fraud systems, payment states, rules, APIs, logs, and operational risk.

This is a product design exercise, not a visual design task. Focus on the user problems, mobile-specific constraints, developer needs, and the product experience Radar should support within Stripe’s broader expectations for trust, reliability, conversion, and global financial infrastructure.

The experience should consider:

- The primary developer personas and situations where they would use Radar on mobile instead of desktop

- Key workflow friction in fraud investigation, alert triage, rule understanding, and payment debugging

- What information developers need immediately versus what can be deferred to deeper views or desktop workflows

- How to make fraud decisions explainable without overwhelming users on a small screen

- Collaboration needs across developers, fraud analysts, support, finance, or operations teams

- Risks of accidental or poorly informed actions in a high-stakes payments environment

- Mobile constraints such as notification quality, authentication, permissions, latency, and secure access

- Success signals for whether the redesigned experience improves developer effectiveness and merchant outcomes

Your goal is to define a clear mobile product experience for Radar that helps developers act confidently on fraud-related issues while preserving Stripe’s standards for reliability, security, developer experience, and merchant growth.
