How to structure your behavioral answer
Use one specific example. Make your decision-making and personal contribution easy to separate from the team's work.
- Set the context and name the decision, conflict, or constraint in one or two sentences.
- Explain your responsibility and the outcome you were trying to create.
- Walk through the actions you personally took, including the trade-off or disagreement you handled.
- Close with the measurable result, what you learned, and what you would change next time.
