Problem Statement Description
Product context: Microsoft is a productivity, software, AI, gaming, and cloud company; its products include Windows, Microsoft 365, Teams, LinkedIn, Xbox, Azure, Dynamics, and Copilot.
You have just taken over Microsoft Power Platform with a specific mandate to improve its value for enterprise sales teams. Power Platform includes low-code app development, workflow automation, analytics, and AI-assisted productivity capabilities, and it sits inside a broader Microsoft ecosystem that includes Teams, Dynamics, Microsoft 365, Azure, and enterprise security/compliance infrastructure.
Your task is to describe how you would run the first 90 days as the product leader. The focus is not on proposing a single feature, but on how you would build operational clarity, understand customer and business priorities, align stakeholders, identify execution risks, and create a credible plan for impact.
Assume the environment includes large enterprise customers, internal Microsoft sales and customer-success teams, partner ecosystems, IT administrators, makers/developers, and end users in sales organizations. You should account for competing priorities such as platform breadth, enterprise trust, adoption, AI opportunities, integration with CRM and collaboration tools, and competition from Salesforce, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, AWS, and other productivity or automation platforms.
The experience should consider:
- How you would structure discovery across customers, internal stakeholders, data, support channels, field teams, and product telemetry
- Which owners and cross-functional partners you would engage across engineering, design, sales, marketing, customer success, security, legal, and partner teams
- How you would identify the most important sales-team workflows, adoption blockers, admin concerns, and enterprise deployment constraints
- How you would sequence the first 30, 60, and 90 days without disrupting ongoing roadmap delivery
- What operating mechanisms, review cadences, decision forums, and accountability models you would put in place
- What go/no-go criteria, dependency tracking, risk management, and escalation paths would matter for execution
- How you would communicate priorities and progress to executives, field teams, customers, and the broader product organization
- How you would evaluate whether the first 90 days have created momentum, clarity, and measurable business value
The goal is to demonstrate how you would take ownership of a complex enterprise platform, quickly develop judgment about where to focus, align a large organization, and create a disciplined execution plan that improves Power Platform’s relevance and adoption for sales teams while preserving Microsoft’s standards for trust, scale, and ecosystem leverage.
