Problem Statement Description
Product context: Stripe is financial infrastructure for internet businesses; its products include payments, Checkout, Billing, Connect, Radar, Issuing, Terminal, and tax tools.
Stripe Atlas helps founders form and launch companies while navigating incorporation, tax, banking, compliance, and payment-readiness steps. In this execution scenario, multiple stakeholders are asking for different Atlas roadmap items to ship first, such as faster onboarding, stronger risk controls, new country or entity support, improved compliance workflows, support tooling, or conversion-driving founder experiences.
You are the PM responsible for deciding what gets prioritized and shipped. The challenge is not simply to rank features, but to create an execution approach that balances founder growth, Stripe’s financial and compliance obligations, operational capacity, legal dependencies, and trust with internal risk teams and external partners.
Assume the requests are all credible and time-sensitive, but resources are constrained. Your response should show how you would structure the decision, align stakeholders, define sequencing, manage launch risk, and communicate trade-offs in a Stripe-quality operating environment.
The experience should consider:
- How you would clarify the goals, request context, urgency, and expected business or user impact of each stakeholder ask
- Which owners and functions need to be involved, including product, engineering, risk, legal, compliance, operations, support, and go-to-market teams
- How you would evaluate dependencies, regulatory or partner constraints, implementation effort, and operational burden
- What criteria would determine sequencing, go/no-go decisions, and whether something ships fully, partially, or behind a controlled rollout
- How you would handle conflicts between growth-oriented requests and risk or compliance requirements
- What communication rhythm, decision forum, and escalation path you would use to maintain alignment
- How you would monitor launch readiness, rollback needs, support impact, and post-launch outcomes
The goal is to describe a practical execution framework for deciding what Atlas ships first when stakeholder priorities conflict, while preserving founder experience, Stripe’s reliability standards, and the risk controls required for financial infrastructure.
