Problem Statement Description
You are designing an MVP for a lightweight profile and identity flow in a mature consumer product used by communities at scale. The target users are community managers who need to present themselves credibly, manage community-facing identity, and establish trust with members without going through a heavy enterprise-style verification or onboarding process.
Today, community managers may have fragmented identities across personal accounts, group pages, moderator tools, creator profiles, or support channels. This can create friction when they try to activate as trusted managers, prove their role, communicate with members, or represent a community consistently. The product must support verified activation while fitting into an already-established consumer experience where users expect simplicity, privacy, and low friction.
Your task is to define the MVP product experience: who it serves first, what identity information is needed, how community managers move through setup and verification, and how the resulting profile is used in the community context. Focus on the user workflow, trust signals, activation moments, and constraints of launching inside a mature product ecosystem.
The experience should consider:
- The primary community manager personas and their most important jobs-to-be-done
- The current friction in creating, proving, or maintaining a trusted community-facing identity
- What “lightweight” means for onboarding, profile completion, and verification
- The minimum profile attributes, identity signals, and permissions needed for trust
- How members understand whether a manager is legitimate without exposing unnecessary personal data
- Edge cases such as shared management, role changes, impersonation, inactive managers, or rejected verification
- Accessibility, privacy, abuse prevention, and global usability considerations
- How to measure whether the MVP improves verified activation and community trust
The goal is to articulate a focused product design proposal that enables community managers to activate with a credible identity, reduces confusion for community members, and creates a scalable foundation for future identity and trust features without overbuilding the first release.
