Problem Statement Description
Product context: Salesforce is an enterprise CRM and cloud software company; its products include Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Data Cloud, Einstein AI, Tableau, and Slack.
Salesforce Einstein is used inside a broader CRM workflow where sales reps manage leads, accounts, opportunities, meetings, follow-ups, forecasts, and customer communications. In a global enterprise environment, reps often work across regions, languages, segments, sales motions, compliance requirements, and data-quality conditions. The challenge is to design a better Einstein experience that helps sales reps become more productive and effective without adding friction, reducing trust, or disrupting existing Salesforce workflows.
Focus on the day-to-day experience of a sales rep using Salesforce: preparing for customer conversations, prioritizing pipeline actions, updating CRM records, following up after meetings, collaborating with account teams, and deciding where to spend time. Consider how AI assistance should appear in the workflow, what context it should use, how it should explain itself, and how reps should control, correct, or act on its outputs.
This is a product design problem, not just an AI feature brainstorm. You should define the target user segments, identify the most important workflow pain points, and scope an experience that can work at enterprise scale across different industries, geographies, data maturity levels, and sales processes.
The experience should consider:
- The core sales rep workflows where Einstein can reduce effort or improve decision quality
- Differences between enterprise, mid-market, field sales, inside sales, new business, and account management motions
- Trust, transparency, and explainability of AI-generated recommendations, summaries, scores, or next-best actions
- Integration with existing Salesforce surfaces such as Sales Cloud records, dashboards, activities, email, calendar, Slack, and mobile
- Global scale requirements including localization, regional compliance, permissions, and role-based data access
- Data-quality challenges, CRM adoption gaps, duplicate records, incomplete activity history, and fragmented customer context
- Admin configurability, extensibility, and governance needs for enterprise customers
- Success signals that show improved rep productivity, pipeline quality, CRM engagement, and customer-facing effectiveness
Your goal is to propose a clear product experience that makes Einstein more useful, trusted, and actionable for sales reps while fitting naturally into Salesforce’s enterprise CRM ecosystem. Focus on the user problem, workflow, constraints, and product scope before discussing features.
