Prioritize a quarterly roadmap for App Store

Product context: Apple is a consumer hardware, software, and services company; its products include iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, iOS, App Store, iCloud, Apple Music, and Apple TV+. App Store is Apple's app marketplace; its products include app discovery, downloads, purchases, subscriptions, reviews, developer distribution, and payment flows.

You are the product manager responsible for shaping next quarter’s roadmap for the App Store, with a specific focus on improving the experience for accessibility-first users across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Vision-related discovery surfaces where relevant. These users may rely on VoiceOver, Switch Control, Voice Control, Dynamic Type, captions, haptics, reduced motion, assistive hardware, or caregiver-supported workflows to discover, evaluate, purchase, download, and manage apps.

The App Store is a high-trust marketplace inside Apple’s broader ecosystem, so roadmap prioritization must balance user impact, developer ecosystem health, operational feasibility, privacy, quality, and brand expectations. You should assume there are more candidate initiatives than the team can execute in one quarter, and that multiple partner teams may be involved across accessibility, search, editorial, payments, developer tooling, app review, analytics, design, and platform engineering.

Your task is to describe how you would prioritize the quarterly roadmap and turn that prioritization into an executable plan. The focus is not on inventing one feature, but on demonstrating how you would evaluate options, sequence work, manage dependencies, define readiness, and reduce launch risk in an Apple-quality product environment.

The experience should consider:

- The key user journeys for accessibility-first users, including app discovery, search, product-page evaluation, ratings/reviews, purchase or subscription decisions, download, updates, and support.

- How to identify and size the most important pain points using customer feedback, accessibility audits, support contacts, App Store analytics, developer input, and qualitative research.

- A prioritization approach that balances customer impact, accessibility severity, business/ecosystem value, technical complexity, privacy, compliance, and cross-platform consistency.

- Clear quarterly planning mechanics, including owners, milestones, dependencies, resourcing assumptions, and sequencing across product, design, engineering, accessibility QA, app review, and developer relations.

- Go/no-go criteria for launch readiness, including accessibility validation, localization, performance, privacy review, operational support, and developer communication needs.

- Risks such as regressions in core App Store flows, inconsistent experiences across devices, unclear developer obligations, measurement gaps, or changes that disadvantage smaller developers.

- Rollout, monitoring, escalation, rollback, and post-launch communication plans for customer-facing and developer-facing changes.

The goal is to show how you would convert a broad accessibility-focused App Store opportunity into a credible quarterly execution roadmap, making clear trade-offs while protecting Apple’s standards for trust, privacy, usability, and ecosystem quality.
