Problem Statement Description
Product context: LinkedIn is Microsoft's professional network; its products include profiles, feed, jobs, recruiting, LinkedIn Learning, sales tools, messaging, and ads.
LinkedIn Company Pages are a key surface for employers to present their brand, jobs, culture, updates, and credibility to professionals. Recruiters and talent teams depend on these pages to attract candidates, support outbound recruiting, and reinforce trust when members evaluate opportunities. A planned Company Pages initiative is now blocked by a cross-functional conflict between teams with different priorities, such as product, engineering, design, sales, trust, data, marketing, or recruiting solutions.
In this execution scenario, you are the PM responsible for moving the initiative forward. The conflict is delaying progress, creating ambiguity around scope, ownership, launch timing, or success criteria. You need to determine how to diagnose the disagreement, align stakeholders, make trade-offs, and create an operating path that protects LinkedIn’s member trust while still serving recruiter and company customer needs.
The experience should consider:
- Which teams and stakeholders are involved, what each may be optimizing for, and where incentives may conflict
- The specific decision or dependency blocking execution, such as scope, data usage, ranking, moderation, monetization, launch readiness, or technical feasibility
- How to establish shared goals for Company Pages across member value, recruiter value, company value, and LinkedIn business outcomes
- How to structure the decision-making process, including owners, escalation paths, timelines, and decision rights
- Dependencies across engineering, design, trust and safety, sales, customer support, analytics, and go-to-market teams
- Go/no-go criteria for launch, including quality thresholds, risk acceptance, compliance, and operational readiness
- Communication plans for executives, internal teams, enterprise customers, and affected users
- Rollback, mitigation, and post-launch monitoring plans if the agreed path creates product, trust, or customer risks
Your goal is to describe how you would unblock the initiative in a way that is operationally realistic, cross-functionally credible, and aligned with LinkedIn’s professional trust, network effects, and B2B recruiting ecosystem.
