Build a trust-focused improvement for Firefly used by small businesses at global scale

Problem Statement Description

Product context: Adobe is a creative, document, and marketing software company; its products include Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Adobe Express, Firefly, and Experience Cloud.

Adobe Firefly is increasingly used by small businesses to create marketing assets, product imagery, social posts, ads, presentations, and customer-facing brand content without large creative teams. In this interview, you are being asked to design a trust-focused improvement for Firefly that helps small businesses confidently use generative AI outputs in real commercial workflows across global markets.

The core challenge is not simply to make generation easier. Small businesses need to know whether an asset is safe to use, aligned with their brand, compliant enough for their market, editable by teammates, and acceptable for customer-facing channels. They may lack legal, design, localization, or compliance support, so uncertainty around rights, provenance, brand consistency, bias, cultural sensitivity, and output quality can block adoption.

Your scope should focus on a concrete product experience within Firefly or an adjacent Adobe workflow that improves trust for small-business users at scale. Consider how a business owner, marketer, freelancer, or lean creative team moves from question to generated asset to review, editing, approval, publishing, and reuse.

The experience should consider:

- The primary small-business user segments, their creative workflows, and where trust breaks down today

- What “trust” means in this context, such as commercial safety, transparency, quality, brand control, provenance, collaboration, or compliance confidence

- How users evaluate AI-generated outputs before using them in ads, websites, social posts, print, or client deliverables

- Global scale challenges, including language, cultural norms, regional regulations, accessibility, and varying levels of AI literacy

- Integration with Adobe’s strengths in creative workflows, professional tools, content credentials, brand systems, and marketing use cases

- The right balance between automation, user control, explainability, and workflow speed

- How the experience would build confidence without creating excessive friction for time-constrained small businesses

- What success would look like for users and for Adobe, including adoption, repeat usage, trust signals, and reduction in blocked or abandoned workflows

Your goal is to frame a clear user problem, define the target audience and workflow, identify the highest-impact trust gap, and design a product experience that makes Firefly more reliable and commercially usable for small businesses operating in diverse global contexts.
