Problem Statement Description
Product context: Google is a consumer technology, ads, AI, and cloud company; its products include Search, YouTube, Android, Maps, Gmail, Chrome, Google Play, Workspace, and Google Cloud.
Google Workspace is a core collaboration environment for advertisers, agencies, brand teams, media buyers, analysts, and legal/compliance partners who create campaign plans, review creative, share performance data, and coordinate launches across Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Gmail, Meet, and Calendar. In this environment, trust is not just about account security; it includes confidence that sensitive campaign information, audience data, creative assets, budget details, approvals, and AI-assisted work are accurate, controlled, attributable, and shared with the right people at the right time.
Design a trust-focused improvement for advertisers using Workspace. Consider the end-to-end workflow of planning, creating, reviewing, approving, launching, and measuring advertising campaigns, especially when multiple internal teams, external agencies, vendors, and clients collaborate across organizations. The improvement should address a meaningful trust gap without turning Workspace into an ads-management product.
Your scope should be a product experience within or across Workspace surfaces that helps advertisers reduce uncertainty, prevent mistakes, verify information, manage collaboration risk, or increase confidence in shared work. Assume Google operates at global scale, with enterprise privacy expectations, regulated industries, cross-border collaboration, and increasing use of AI-generated or AI-assisted content.
The experience should consider:
- The specific advertiser user segments involved, such as brand marketers, agency account teams, media buyers, analysts, creative reviewers, legal approvers, and external clients.
- The moments in the campaign workflow where trust breaks down, such as version confusion, unauthorized access, unclear approvals, questionable data sources, asset misuse, or AI-generated content concerns.
- How the improvement fits naturally into Workspace products and collaboration patterns without adding excessive friction.
- What users need to see, verify, control, or recover from in order to feel confident continuing the workflow.
- Privacy, permissions, auditability, and cross-organization sharing constraints for enterprise advertisers.
- How the product should handle mistakes, disputes, sensitive information, and accountability across collaborators.
- How success might be evaluated through user confidence, reduced errors, safer sharing, faster approvals, or improved collaboration quality.
The goal is to define a clear user problem, prioritize the trust gap worth solving, and design a Workspace experience that improves advertiser confidence while balancing usability, privacy, enterprise controls, and Google’s broader responsibility around information quality and safe collaboration.
