Design a better LinkedIn experience for enterprise admins

Problem Statement Description

Product context: Microsoft is a productivity, software, AI, gaming, and cloud company; its products include Windows, Microsoft 365, Teams, LinkedIn, Xbox, Azure, Dynamics, and Copilot. LinkedIn is Microsoft's professional network; its products include profiles, feed, jobs, recruiting, LinkedIn Learning, sales tools, messaging, and ads.

LinkedIn is widely used by enterprises for hiring, learning, sales, employer branding, employee advocacy, and professional identity. Behind those use cases are enterprise admins who manage licenses, user access, permissions, integrations, compliance needs, reporting, and vendor accountability across LinkedIn products.

Design a better LinkedIn experience for enterprise admins. Focus on the admin workflow for organizations that may use multiple LinkedIn enterprise offerings, such as Talent Solutions, Sales Navigator, LinkedIn Learning, company pages, ads, and identity or analytics integrations. The current experience may involve fragmented tools, unclear ownership, manual provisioning, limited visibility into usage, and difficulty proving business value to internal stakeholders.

This is a product design question, not a request to redesign LinkedIn for end users. Your scope should center on the admin persona: HR operations, recruiting operations, sales operations, learning and development admins, IT admins, security/compliance teams, and business owners who need to configure, govern, monitor, and optimize LinkedIn at scale.

The experience should consider:

- Key admin jobs such as onboarding users, assigning licenses, managing roles, enforcing permissions, and handling employee lifecycle changes.

- Friction caused by multiple LinkedIn enterprise products, disconnected dashboards, inconsistent admin controls, or unclear account structures.

- Enterprise requirements around security, SSO, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, data access, privacy, and compliance review.

- Reporting needs, including usage, adoption, ROI, team performance, budget utilization, and renewal justification.

- Collaboration between business admins, IT, procurement, legal, finance, and LinkedIn customer success teams.

- Support workflows for troubleshooting, escalations, policy exceptions, and change management.

- Differences across company size, geography, department structure, and maturity of enterprise systems.

- How the experience fits Microsoft’s strengths in enterprise trust, productivity, identity, analytics, and platform integration.

Your goal is to define a clear target admin segment, identify the highest-impact workflow pain points, and design an improved LinkedIn admin experience that is useful, trustworthy, scalable, and measurable for enterprise customers without prescribing implementation details prematurely.
