Design a better Sales Cloud experience for sales reps

Problem Statement Description

Product context: Salesforce is an enterprise CRM and cloud software company; its products include Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Data Cloud, Einstein AI, Tableau, and Slack.

Salesforce Sales Cloud is the day-to-day system of record and workflow hub for sales reps managing accounts, contacts, opportunities, activities, forecasts, and customer communications. In this question, you are being asked to redesign or improve the Sales Cloud experience specifically from the perspective of frontline sales reps, not sales managers, admins, or executives.

Sales reps often work under time pressure across many tools: email, calendar, calls, Slack or Teams, documents, enablement content, prospecting tools, and CRM records. Their pain points may include too much manual data entry, fragmented customer context, unclear next-best actions, difficulty prioritizing accounts, low trust in CRM data, and workflows that feel optimized for reporting rather than selling.

Your task is to define a focused product design opportunity within Sales Cloud, identify the most important rep workflow friction, and propose an experience that helps reps sell more effectively while still fitting into enterprise CRM realities such as customization, permissions, data quality, governance, integrations, and manager visibility.

The experience should consider:

- The primary sales rep segment and workflow, such as account executives, SDRs, field reps, inside sales reps, or enterprise sellers

- Key moments in the sales workflow, including prospecting, account research, meeting preparation, opportunity updates, follow-ups, pipeline management, and handoffs

- Where reps lose time or context across CRM records, email, calendar, calls, documents, collaboration tools, and third-party sales systems

- How the experience reduces manual effort while maintaining accurate, trustworthy CRM data

- How AI, automation, or recommendations could support reps without creating black-box decisions or compliance risk

- How the design balances rep productivity with manager needs for pipeline visibility, forecasting, and process adherence

- Enterprise constraints such as role-based access, auditability, configurability, integration with existing tools, and adoption across varied sales teams

- Success indicators that show improved rep productivity, data quality, engagement, and sales workflow outcomes

The goal is to frame a clear user problem, design a Sales Cloud experience that meaningfully improves the rep’s daily selling workflow, and explain how the product would create value for both individual reps and Salesforce’s enterprise customers without over-scoping the solution.
