Design a new feature in Host Tools that helps remote workers achieve better outcomes at global scale

Problem Statement Description

Product context: Airbnb is a travel marketplace connecting guests and hosts; its products include stays, experiences, host tools, guest booking, trust and safety, payments, and reviews.

Airbnb has a large global marketplace of hosts and guests, and remote workers are an increasingly important guest segment. These guests may book longer stays, travel across time zones, depend on reliable work-friendly amenities, and make decisions based on details that traditional leisure travelers may not prioritize. Hosts, however, may not always know how to present, validate, price, or maintain their listings for this use case.

Design a new feature within Airbnb Host Tools that helps hosts better serve remote workers and helps remote workers achieve better stay outcomes at global scale. The feature should fit into the host workflow, account for different property types and geographies, and improve marketplace trust without creating excessive operational burden for hosts.

Focus on the product experience: what problem the host is solving, what information or actions the tool enables, how it influences guest confidence, and how it can scale across markets with different norms, infrastructure, regulations, and guest expectations.

The experience should consider:

- The end-to-end host workflow, from listing setup and amenity management to booking, check-in, stay support, and post-stay feedback

- Remote worker needs such as dependable internet, workspace quality, quiet environment, time-zone flexibility, long-stay comfort, and local logistics

- How hosts can accurately represent work-friendly attributes without overclaiming or creating trust issues

- How the feature should adapt for different host segments, including individual hosts, professional hosts, urban apartments, rural stays, and shared spaces

- Guest-facing implications of host-provided inputs, including discoverability, decision confidence, and expectation setting

- Marketplace quality concerns such as verification, disputes, cancellations, reviews, and inconsistent standards across countries

- Business and ecosystem trade-offs, including host adoption, supply quality, booking conversion, longer-stay demand, and competitive differentiation

- Constraints around privacy, safety, accessibility, localization, regulation, and operational scalability

Your goal is to define a clear product opportunity and design a feature that meaningfully improves outcomes for remote workers while strengthening Airbnb’s host ecosystem and marketplace trust.
