Problem Statement Description
Product context: Meta is a social technology company; its products include Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Threads, Quest, creator tools, and ads.
Meta’s Creator Studio helps sellers manage marketplace-facing content, listings, messages, performance, and audience engagement across Meta surfaces. For marketplace sellers, trust is central: buyers need confidence that listings, seller identities, product claims, pricing, availability, and post-purchase communication are reliable, while sellers need confidence that the platform treats them fairly and helps them build credibility.
Design a trust-focused improvement for Creator Studio specifically for marketplace sellers. The improvement should fit into the seller workflow, address a meaningful trust gap, and support both seller success and buyer safety without creating unnecessary friction for legitimate sellers.
Focus on the product experience: who the seller is, what they are trying to accomplish, where trust breaks down today, and how Creator Studio could help sellers demonstrate reliability, resolve concerns, or prevent buyer distrust before it happens. You should not assume a full rebuild of Marketplace or a separate standalone app; scope the improvement as something that can plausibly live within or connect closely to Creator Studio.
The experience should consider:
- The core seller workflow, such as creating listings, managing inventory, responding to buyers, tracking performance, or handling disputes
- The specific trust problem being addressed, such as scams, misleading listings, poor responsiveness, inconsistent fulfillment, account legitimacy, or unclear seller reputation
- How different seller types may vary, including casual sellers, small businesses, high-volume sellers, and creators monetizing their audience
- What buyers need to feel confident and what sellers need to build or protect their reputation
- How the design balances trust-building with ease of use, privacy, safety, and marketplace growth
- Where the feature appears in Creator Studio and how it changes seller behavior over time
- Signals, feedback loops, or education that help sellers understand and improve trustworthiness
- Risks such as gaming, false confidence, seller frustration, bias against new sellers, or overcomplicating the listing flow
The goal is to define a clear product opportunity and design a practical, trust-oriented experience that improves confidence in marketplace transactions while fitting Meta’s broader strengths in social identity, messaging, community, monetization, and safety at scale.
